The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) hosted a video news conference on Mon. June 5 to update the general aviation community on progress made by the Eliminate Aviation Gasoline Lead Emissions (EAGLE) initiative.
According to the head of certification for the FAA, Lirio Liu, the FAA plans to issue a fleet authorization this year to permit 91UL avgas to be used in about 68% of the general aviation fleet. The video conference, Press Brief — State of the Transition to Unleaded Avgas, can be viewed on the GAMA YouTube channel at @generalaviationmanufacture4369. In addition, to improve communication about the program, EAGLE has launched a new website at flyeagle.org.
