In 2031, leaded avgas will be banned in California. They will ban all airport operators and private or public entities that make it available.
The timing coincides with the FAA’s commitment to phase out leaded avgas by 2030 and replace it with non-leaded fuel options, some of which are already available to aviators. These fuels are effective but, unfortunately, often cost more than existing fuel options.
