Getting a quote for insurance on your airplane can be a daunting task but gathering all of the necessary information ahead of time can make the process a little easier. AssuredPartners shared a checklist pilots can use to make sure they have everything they need to get a quote.

Along with the usual things like the year, make, and model of your aircraft you’ll want to have information on the airport where your airplane lives including the elevation, runway surface type, and the width and length of the runway. Presumably a wider, longer runway is preferred.
Additionally, there are a few factors to be aware of that may affect your premium including the usage of the airplane and your experience level in the type. The cost of insurance can have a big impact on the overall cost of owning your airplane. For more information on how to calculate the real cost of ownership, read Scott “Sky” Smith’s article here.
